Nebraska Water Funding Task Force

Nebraska State-Wide

In 2013, Vireo led workshops for a state-wide task force brought together to intensively study the critical condition of the Ogallala Aquifer and to begin piecing together a plan for the state’s water usage. Vireo helped bring together legislators, farmers, conservationists and businesspeople from all parts of the state for a series of intensive workshops discussing the availability of resources, the projected demand on them and alternatives for how to manage and distribute those resources long-term. The result was a groundbreaking agreement among the group that will serve as the roadmap for water planning in the state for decades to come.
