Connected Freight KC 2050

Kansas City, Missouri

The Mid-America Regional Council, in coordination with Lawrence-Douglas Metropolitan Planning Organization, Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission, and the consultant team recently developed Connected Freight KC 2050 - A Plan in Action.

Key goals involved identifying future partnerships, policies, and a framework for prioritizing investments and programs; promoting expansion of public and private investment in freight; and improving the regional economy and quality of life.

Vireo led the engagement and communications effort. They developed presentation materials throughout the planning process and leveraged them to facilitate a kick-off event and tour, consultant team brainstorming sessions, stakeholder meetings, focus group discussions on the economics of freight, and a series of highly interactive scenario workshops with businesses and regional partners located within the plan’s freight impact area.
