Omaha National Cemetery
Beginning in 2014, Vireo led the master planning team that created the initial design and design-build bridging documents for the Midwest’s newest national cemetery. The design creates a warm sense of place on a rolling 235-acre site near Omaha, Nebraska, using the regional vernacular to help inform both the land plan and the architecture. The first phase of development includes construction of 10 years of burial capacity and all public, administration and maintenance facilities. The first veterans to be buried on the site were laid to rest in September 2016.
