Riverfront Parks Master Plan

Change is a constant in park and recreation trends, but Parkville was faced with a considerable task – responding to new leisure and work trends, demographic shifts, and significant new development patterns in the area.
Vireo was called on to help them study their current systems and operations while leading the community through a planning process that would help them meet those challenges and take advantage of new opportunities.
The process offers recommendations for the community as a whole with a focus on the future of the riverfront - a significant asset to the community. Preservation of the natural environment was found to be a priority, while future development was planned to meet future needs for recreation. As a part of this vision, Vireo compiled a parks inventory, a review of land acquisition objectives, and funding possibilities.
