Urmi Das

Landscape Designer

What initially drew you to what you do?

I was drawn to this field because of the wide variety of things landscape architects get to work on, along with the opportunity to shape places and experiences for people while working with nature in a thoughtful and meaningful way.

What is your favorite part of what you do?

Right now, my favorite part of what I do is create visualizations of design ideas, whether abstract or realistic.

Probably somewhere in the mountains. I haven’t been to any of the national parks in the U.S. yet, so I’d love to spend time exploring those.

You have two weeks off. Where would you spend it?

Outside of your work day, how do you like to spend your time?

You can usually find me practicing music, cooking or baking something. I play guitar, keyboard, and ukulele. I also enjoy making cheesecakes, cookies, and experimenting with desserts from different cuisine—mostly Bangladeshi and Indian ( Jilapi, Roshmalai, Sondesh etc.) , and occasionally Middle Eastern (Kunafa).
