Urmi Das

Landscape Designer

What initially drew you to what you do?

I was drawn to this field because of the wide variety of things landscape architects get to work on, along with the opportunity to shape places and experiences for people.

What is your favorite part of what you do?

Right now, my favorite part of what I do is create visualizations of design ideas, whether abstract or realistic.

Probably somewhere in the mountains. I haven’t been to any of the national parks in the U.S. yet, so I’d love to spend time exploring those.

You have two weeks off. Where would you spend it?

Outside of your work day, how do you like to spend your time?

Mostly practicing music, baking something, or reading a book. I play a few instruments (guitar, ukulele, and a little bit of piano). I enjoy experimenting with desserts from different cuisines, including Bangladeshi and Indian. But I end up making cheesecake and tiramisu more often than I probably should.
