KU’s Capitol Federal Hall forms a new southern gateway to the KU campus. For the KU School of Business, it provides a new home with collaborative learning spaces to foster interaction between business students, faculty and other disciplines. This collaborative environment extends outdoors with a variety of seating areas and shade trees to provide comfortable gathering spaces at each of the building entries with opportunity for students and faculty to meet and share ideas, study or socialize.
The entire building is surrounded by a landscaped berm with a vibrant mix of native and adapted plants, to give the appearance as if it is rising from the Kansas prairie, and creating a landscape that changes throughout the seasons and year-to-year. The 350-seat auditorium includes a green roof
