Wyandotte County Zoning Code Rewrite

Unified Government of Wyandotte County-Kansas City, Kansas

This project aimed to develop a new, easy to understand zoning code to guide the County’s land development. Any zoning code rewrite is a big undertaking, but feedback from residents, business owners, local officials, and City Staff helped make this effort a success. The project team uncovered specific ways to:

• Streamline development review processes.

• Make it easier to accommodate new types of businesses.

• Preserve and enhance neighborhoods.

• Guide development of places community members enjoy.
